Online students are oftentimes left to their own devices when it comes to managing time, staying on top of assignments, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Maintain the same routine that you would have if going to school in person: wake up early enough for breakfast, exercise after lunch, and before bed. Keep track of deadlines by scheduling them into your calendar like any other appointment or event so they don’t sneak up unannounced at 3 am. Once these have been identified, think about how best they can be addressed throughout the text. This usually means including evidence from sources for History classes or referencing work by others’ opinions on other texts when discussing literature with English courses. Texting, email and social media notifications can be a hassle for online students. They need to wake up early in the morning but their phone alarm is not loud enough so they sleep through it or set an off-hour notification as well as checking them continually throughout the day. Text messaging alerts remind you that there are important messages waiting on your device even after hours of college classes have ended while other people know when it’s time for class because Facebook posts about last-minute changes will pop up automatically in their feeds.
5. Get organized so you can find things easily.
Make your home a clutter-free environment by deciding on the place for every object and storing them accordingly. Don’t let an unorganized house bog you down with never being able to find anything! An organized space can help keep it looking clean and inviting, not cluttered or messy. Organizing your stuff will make it easier to find what you need. You know that feeling when you dig through a pile of clothes and can’t locate the shirt that’s clean? Or how about going into someone else’s room, but not knowing where anything is because they have so much junk on their dresser top or in corners? When I’m getting ready for work in the morning, my desk has all my supplies laid out neatly next to me with everything within arms reach – including coffee! It makes life SO easy
6. Take care of yourself outside the classroom.
The last thing you want is to be tired and sluggish during your classes. You’re not only in charge of your own well-being while you are at school, but also outside the classroom. To make sure this doesn’t happen, it’s important that you’re taking care of yourself outside the classroom too. Sleep well, exercise regularly, and eat healthy meals are all ways to keep yourself happy. When you’re not feeling your best due to lack of sleep or a stressful day at school it’s hard for anyone else around you too! Classes can be tough enough as is so make sure that when there’s time outside the classroom in between periods or after school hours take care of yourself first before taking on anything more difficult because that will only lead you down an even tougher path.
7. Take breaks to stay fresh.
This one is a no-brainer. In order to stay productive and motivated, you have to take breaks every now and then so that your brain can recover from the tasks it’s been trying to accomplish for hours on end. And even if you try telling yourself “I might as well just keep working! I won’t stop until everything is finished!” chances are that by continuing this way without taking any breaks, all of your energy will drain out before the day ends anyway. So why not save yourself some time in the long run? Break time doesn’t necessarily mean a break in work; it could be something as simple as doing five minutes of stretches or going outside for 30 seconds for fresh air.
It can be difficult to stay focused on your studies when you are juggling work, family, and social commitments.
